A giftattack is the perfect way to organize collective gifts. If you want to present your friend with a gift and let others participate in that gift, giftattack is a simple tool to manage this. You start a giftattack, share it within your friends who can chip in and then you surprise your buddy with the perfect gift.

Every soldier participating in a giftattack adds "ammunition" - the money he/she would like to spend on their friend's gift. The money will be paid via PayPal to a dedicated giftattack account. After a giftattack is finalized, the total amount of money will be transferred to the commander who initiated the giftattack. The commander buys the gift and then surprises the attacked person with the gift. Every participating soldier will be portrayed on a dedicated giftattack ecard which can be sent to the giftee by email.

A big share of this fee consists of PayPal fees we (not you!) have to pay to Paypal. These fees vary depending on the countries the soldiers are operating from and we have to make sure not to make a loss with each payment.

You can start with just 1 USD/1 EUR and you can add as much money per giftattack as you want. There is a giftattack fee of 5% of your payment or a minimum of 1 USD/1 EUR. This fee will be added to your "ammunition".

An example: You'd like to contribute $10. The total amount to pay will be $11: 5% of $10 is less than the minimum fee of $1 - and the minimum fee is added to the $10.

Another example: If you pay $50, the total amount shown will be $52.50 ($50 +5%).

No! Any giftattack is a good and successful giftattack!

On every giftattack detail page you can see the status of this attack: how much money has been collected so far and when the giftattack will end. When a giftattack ends the commander receives the collected money regardless if the giftattack has reached 100% or not. If the giftattack did not reach 100% the commander can surprise the victim with a nice amount of money he/she can use to buy a different gift.

You yourself decide about your "ammunition" - the money you'd like to spend on your friend's gift. You can start with just 1 USD/1 EUR and add as much money per giftattack as you want. If you want to surprise your friend with a gift, you start a giftattack by registering with giftattack or by connecting your Facebook account - then click Start a giftattack now!.

First, you choose the victim of your attack, set the deadline and visibility of the attack. Next, you name and describe the gift and add a picture. If you don't have any idea which gift fits, check your friend's wishlist or visit out gift idea section first. Maybe he/she already added a big wish! Then you fill in price you of your friend's gift. Third, you pay via PayPal.

After you finish your payment you can share the giftattack with your friends and invite them to participate. The more friends you invite, the faster you'll accomplish your mission and finalize the giftattack!

If you receive an invitation to participate in a giftattack you can join forces with the giftattack's commander simply by registering with giftattack or connecting with your Facebook account. You'll see who the giftattack is aimed on, what the actual gift is, who already is participating and to what extent the mission has been accomplished, i.e. how much money already has been collected.

Then you decide upon your own ammunition and pay via PayPal. At the end of the giftattack you will be informed about the result.

We at giftattack use military wordings such as attack, commander, soldier and others in the most friendly and playful way you can think of. We use the analogies to demonstrate the power of collective behaviour: think about all those great gifts you can surprise your friends with by leveraging your "ammunition" (money you have collected for the gift) with your friend's power!

And we want to provide you with a simple way to organize collective gifts without any hassle of getting all of your friends together or collecting the money at a party etc. - as efficient as they work in military services.

If you have a wish - lets say you are longing for this "it-bag" you saw on your last shopping tour - you can add it to your wishlist and let your friends know. By doing this you make sure that your friends won't surprise you with that mother-in-law-ish looking tablecloth. If one of your friends wants to gift you he/she can easily launch a giftattack starting with one of the gifts from your wishlist.

Everybody can start or participate in a giftattack. You will need a PayPal account to pay for your "ammunition" - the amount of money you'd like to spend on your friend's gift.
